I'd say yes, if i wanted to sit down in the front room with a cuppa to read it i'd grab the laptop.

The 2nd (should of been first but i did it backwards) Of my entries for the practical photographer course i'm doing.

Aim is to get motion blur on a subject walking past a focal point, the statue was the focal point which in a lot of other shots was nice and clear, i felt this more appealing with it being visible through the blur, also wanted to keep the water feature in.

opinions welcomed

Thx for the feedback, great picture

I basically bought it for weddings really, i have a portable studio with continuous lighting from softboxes and i do the same with the flashgun on a stand with umbrella, so i'm not sure i'll use it for portraits or not, i will have a play to see the results and post some shots when i do, like i say i think mainly i got it in view of weddings, it only cost £30 so worth a go i reckon.

this was taken with my current setup

Had mine turn up today, only had a quick 5 mins with it and i have to say it seems pretty impressive.

Anyone else use one of these, how do you find it? do you use the different colour inverted domes? what sort of things do you find it handy for?

I bought it because of my aim to be shooting weddings and as i do i read as much info as poss on anything i'm going to be doing and these came up a few times.

Have a look at redsnapper. A number of people on here have them and recommend them.

I've tried to look around for these, can hardly find them to buy let alone reviews, took an interest after reading other posts but cant find much at all on them.

The slik 700dx has clamps as the manfrotto has, but only around 15-20 quid cheaper than manfrotto 19xprob.

it does look good mind just dont know if i should just pay the extra

Sorry to post another thread just most who have read the others probably wont look again just from seeing me post a new post.....so....

I am after a tripod, want something good and sturdy but dont justify paying crazy money at all. I've had my eye on the manfrotto 190prob and 055prob but was told to have a look at the slik range, well on looking i can get the slik 700dx for a little cheaper than both of the above, have any of you used slik and how do you think they compare to manfrotto.

Is slik a good option or should i just pay the extra?
