I recently bought a 16gb card from play.com, pny one for £16.50, think they made a mistake as there now just under £40, wish i'd bought more....anyway, was reading some reviews and some people were having the same issue your having and this was the general answer to it.

If you still get no joy i'd say maybe you have a faulty lens.
My camera beeps when its in focus even tho its a manual focus lens, it is a little slow to be honest and does take some fine movement at times to get it sharp.

My friend has just bought the Xprob version with the next head upto this one but paid £129 which to be honest i'm probably going to buy myself aswell, but if you cant stretch to the extra the one i've linked is a very good tripod for the money and a good price too.
Here Is the other one, this place is the shop i use for most my stuff and cheapest i can find this tripod and head.
