No, I didn't mean any offence, I was just trying say that picutres taken with Pentax equipment, has to stand against anything taken with Can. Nik. Min. Olym etc., etc., and I believe it can.

Mrs Fatty Smith, down in No.2 High St, Your Town, Anywhere FK2 YoU
can't tell what camera the image was taken on, any more than you or I could.

We just don't have to say the picture is 10 out of 10, just because it was taken on a Pentax.

And just like Mrs Fatty Smith, we all have our own opinions

You are asking for comments from quite a small group of photographers.

The people that post here are all Pentax users and they each have their own photographic interests. 10% might like a particular picture, 50% might hate it, and the rest don't care. Take your own pictures, if you like them, post them, we all like to see pictures, it spurs some of us on, ( me ).

I tend to like the more obscure, or 'arty' pics, or that macro stuff from someone called 'Daniel' ( I don't know him, but I hate him, sell me your Sigma, or the hit-man will call next week !!!!).

As for the pics you posted,

1. A bit dull, needs a lift and cropping. Don't like the borders.
2. Too much trees, needs more contrast, don't like the borders.
3. Don't like it at all.

Harsh, I know.

I'll post a couple so you can get your own back.

Getting back to the original "Remote Control", if you have a hand-held computer running the "Palm" operating system, you can fire the shutter on your Pentax with a software add-on

i'll send you the link if you need it.

No surprise for me

and I've used Lightroom from the very first beta, when it was Mac only ?

Have you tried GraphicConverter for the Mac ?

http://www.lemkesoft.com/

I've been using it for a few years now, and it open loads of picture formats
and lets you save in loads of formats, even opens .pef's from my DS.
It's free to try and cost $30 to keep. The most recent versions have just
about everythying you need for Digital Manipulation.
If you use it for RAW, remember the RAW files are quite big, and as Don
says, it will be slow processing the effects you want, if you don't have
loads of RAM

I've seen some nice nice 'Moon shots' posted here, even tried one myself, but there must have been an earthquake
at the same time as I pressed the shutter.

Anyway, for all you Moon fans, here's a 'heads-up' to a possible, weather permitting, photo opportunity.

NASA Science News for February 12, 2007

Mark your calendar: On March 3, 2007, the Moon will turn red during a total lunar eclipse visible from parts of all seven
continents.

Good luck.

I'll be out at the weekend cementing the tripod into the garden

1680 x 1050 for me. Can cope with most things, especially landscapes.

Yes, I like it too. One of the better images I've seen of the recent snow fall.
Unfortunately, some of us folks in Inverness, Scotland, ( working here for a day or 3 ), haven't seen the snow yet !!!! ( I specify Scotland, cause there may be an Inverness in Canada, if Don is thawed out , and survived the bears he may educate us
Typical, usually see the snow that often, don't bother to take many pics, now I want snow !!!

I like it Lilly, might be a wee bit tempted, to 'clone' out the bit of land on the top right. I used to be a 'pure-ist' but I'm ok now
