Just wait until Will posts the original of his 6x17 slide.
Perhaps we should have a 'maximum image dimensions' sticky thread, but then you need to decide what resolution the average user has their monitor running at.
I'm still 1024x768, I suspect many are 1600x1200 or widescreen (1440x900 or similar), so the problem might not be visible to them. Can't say it annoys me too much though.

Not a photographic issue but a PC one related to this site
Why do some posts stretch right off the screen? Most of the time there is no problem, but recently it seems to have become worse.

Try writing shorter lines of text, hit return now and again when typing, try it in preview mode if you don't believe me

1680 x 1050 for me. Can cope with most things, especially landscapes.

normal lines of text will auto wrap, it only becomes an issue if you try a really really long string of characters with no spaces (such as a URL). The auto wrap has nowhere to break the line so it leaves it all on one and you get an ultra wide page.

I'm sure I seen a couple of mine go longer than the auto wrap, but then hen I engage brain I realise that this happens after a big image has already been posted in the thread...................... normal lines of text will auto wrap, it only becomes an issue if you try a really really long string of characters with no spaces (such as a URL). I seem to remember someone else with a similar problem some time back, but I cannot remember the answer - is there one?
