Cant find this in a search so though I would start a new thread.

Please list the kit your currently using, here is mine to get us started

Pentax K5
SMC Pentax-DA 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 Fish-Eye ED [IF]
SMC Pentax-DA 17-70mm F4 AL [IF] SDM
SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR
Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro
Sigma 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 APO

All fitted with a Hoya Pro1 Digital UV (except fish eye)

Tamrac back pac
Unbranded tripod

The wife is now using the K-m and I brought her a
Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II Macro, which lives on it all the time.

Wish List

Metz PTTL flash for our indoor shots over winter.
ND Filter for the 17-70mm

I have recently sold off all my older stuff and bits I was either not happy with or just not using any more. So all the smc manual primes went, a Metz 45 cl4 (manual), cheap filters, and kit lenses. Really happy with the simplified current kit now.

Update.

Insurance company have collected and checked the 16-45mm lens and said it is not worth repairing. Would I settle for a 17-70mm as a replacement!

So new lens is being delivered next week. Excess was £25

good result in the end, I have ordered a new strap which has quick release buckles so I will only have a strap on it when I am on walk abouts, gone for a shoulder strap this time.

I just had a claim for my Pentax 16-45 zoom, which was damaged when i dropped my K5 after the strap caught on a table. Ok it was in the home so my contents insurance covered it, (will cover away from home too for upto 60 days at a time). But to be fair to NFU they collected the lens within a couple of days had it tested again with in a couple of days and called me today to say they were replacing it.
I had to pay £25 excess and they have ordered a Pentax 17-70mm from Jessops as a replacement, with out any fuss which will be delivered next day or so.

So check your contents policy and see how much more cover you actually need.

comparing the two images I agree some is down to personal preference, certainly the sharpening is much better and makes my original look out of focus.

Ouch indeed. Sorry to hear that.

I would check the camera thoroughly with a known good lens before making any insurance claims
Thanks good advice, I did! As you can imagine I did get into a bit of a panic thinking the camera was faulty. I have wacked off a few pictures outside at checked them it all seem to work fine, fingers crossed that i don't find something later.

Still cant believe I damaged it, I have never done this.
