Anyone use the 8mm Samyang/falcon/etc fisheye lens?
I haven't seen may images from it...
I would be interested too, as it costs about £200 against a Pentax or Sigma which s twice that amount. I know the Samyang is manual focus but its DOF is massive so it would be hard to be out of focus.

Some great pictures in this thread. You know how it feels just when you have convinced the wife that the £300 you spent on a lens only last weekend was the last for a long time, you very quickly NEED another one.

Have ordered some interflora flowers for her before I dare ask about a fish eye

Thank you for the warm welcome, I have made a start with posting a few pictures already.
Red Kites were flying above the farm today using the thermal off the big barn roofs, they were way too high for my 500mm mirror but I had a go any way!
Manual everything & hand held.

I just won some extension tubes. Sorry if i was bidding against you!
Have been looking for some auto tubes for a while so snapped them up today. Not just auto with the mechanical aperture but with the electrical contacts so AF/AE lens function too.
How did you manage to find them? I have been hunting for a set of these for some time now.

50mm f2 for sub £10 is a really nice deal! Congratulations

The sun came out this afternoon so I had a quick play with my 500mm mirror lens, as above. Using my K-m previously I used it in aperture priority mode and left the camera to select the rest. I think this was my error as the iso set itself to 100 not to auto. Setting to full manual mode I set the iso to 800 which allows for a much fast shutter speed and there by sharper images, but the colours still seem a bit washed out.

Nice, I have a 500 Mirror, but my results were disappointing to say the least (user error I know) I guess it wants a very bright day to be ideal. I will try again after seeing your results

Hi, I have been reading your forum for a couple of months getting hints and tips and have finally decided to join in.
Quicky boutme. I live and work on a dairy farm in beautiful West Wales, I have stunning landscapes right outside my kitchen window! The skies are dramatic and ever changing. I am so lucky to be able to see numerous Red Kites and Buzzards every day. We are about 20 minutes drive from the fantastic coast around Cardigan Bay, and 40 minutes from the Pembrokeshire coast.
I have been taking pictures since I was 18 (32 years ago!) although I went digital 5 or 6 years ago with a compact, I have only recently purchased a DSLR again, Pentax was the obvious choice as I had used an MX for so long and my lens would fit. Yes they fit but the new digital lenses are a joy so they are back in the loft!
Current Kit. K-m with the 2 lens pack.
