Happy enough with IQ, nothing takes 100% viewing well but 'as shot' or small crops are fine.

Just took using Auto everything so more to come if I adjusted settings for conditions etc.

Well it's been in the sink, rain and yesterday the sea. Kept working and no sign of water ingress. The droplets that do get on the lens from the surf seem to run / shake off quite easily.

Haven't had a 'close up' look at the photo's for IQ yet, hopefully later today.

The orange WG-3 for £139 on Amazon is too good to resist, so I will be going for it.

I'll make sure I do 'test dunking' within the 30 day no hassle returns period as a few reviews do seem to indicate the odd copy with waterproofing issues.

We are considering getting WG for use during watersports, maybe the wg3 whilst at run out prices. We bought a cheapo waterproof camera as test of concept and apart from poor IQ the main annoyance has been water droplets on the lens causing distortions. Is this something better cameras get around somehow (hydrophobic lens coatings??) Or just something you have to put up with? Done good few searches & read reviews but can't find anything specific on this, so wondered if anyone out there knew?

We have the sort Aero linked to on our bodies & have been very pleased with them.

Light, quite right to be aware but my k-x coped with the snapshots I took during the service without need for flash.

I had the fast 35 on which helped but couldn't go silly with wide aperture as needed good DOF. Sure you and your K3 will cope admirably with the right set up.

At my nephews christening my sister had a pro do some shots he covered:

- people arriving at church

- baby with parents at front of church being given a candle

- various groups around font

- actual water moment as john suggests

- people leaving church

- usual sort of shots at pub gathering afterwards.

I don't know how 'standard' Christenings are, this one seemed quite sponantious with the vicar reacting to what baby did rather than trying to force baby to follow a set service. May be worth finding out how the vicar for your ceremony intends to play it / do so you know what's coming.


My observation was the photograhpher needed to be more reactive than with a wedding, baby doesn't pose on request or even keep still & will do funny things that it would be good to capture if your quick enough.

Sure you will be fine, this chap seemed to have less experience than I believe you do and he got OK shots.
