I voted no. At that price I think I'd instead go for a Kr as a second body.

Another DA*50-135? You must have your own factory.

If I won the lottery tomorrow I would buy a 645D.

I'll see how the bidding on a DA*300 goes.

I only visited the place once and thought it soul destroyingly sterile, so I like the way you have shown some real life here. 3 and 6 for me.

One of the main reasons I first chose Pentax was the ability to use it with older primes - a cheap option to get started.

I have several bargains, for example a M50mm f1.7 for £10. The quality is ridiculously good for the price. I found a K series 35.mm f3.5 for £30 (with a film camera thrown in). What a lens that is!!!!!!!!!!!!! absolutely sensational value for money, I might post some pics later on. There are plenty of bargains around, you just need to hunt them out. I also find the IQ of the kit lens to be pretty impressive compared to its rivals - and you have the WR too. I got my Pentax 100mm f2.8macro for £250, that was a fine investment - it paid me back in prizes by winning me the ephotozine June competition and another web competition, ahead of all those Nikon and Canon lenses.

So that's a good start. Then there are the aspirational lenses. The DA*200 and 300 are plenty good enough and I think prices are competitive. Oh and there is the 50-135, not half bad. And the FA77 - I have seen some absolutely magical results from that. Surely one of the finest lenses ever made. For portraiture I think that is reason alone to be a Pentaxian.

OK Pentax doesn't offer you 400mm f2.8, but that doesn't worry me, there are still more creative options than I will ever be able to afford.

I handled a Sony A55 and a Nikon something or other yesterday. They just felt like lumps of plastic compared to a Pentax.

That's why I stick with Pentax.
