I have an FA50mm f1.4. It is mint condition, as new. They now retail for £329 (Park, Amazon), although SRS has got them at £289 ("last few at this price").

The new plastic mount DA50mm f1.8 is £249.

I've used the 55-300 on the K20, K7 and K5. It is perfectly sharp on all three. Results from higher ISO on the K20 and K7 will be fine in bright conditions. Noise is much more noticeable in darker scenes and of course you can't tweak exposure as you can with the K5. Personally I'd first concentrate on optimising results with exisiting kit, trying out tripod mounted, cable release, mirror-up on a still subject.

Carry on Shaun. I need to learn how to Photoshop. To be honest I find it baffling and I like your back to basics approach. Just the kind of thing I'm looking for. It's very helpful, generous of you to share your ways and much appreciated.
