Hi friends,

Happened to see a guy with a Pentax DSLR (could not see the model) in Charing Cross Station, London today (28th July) at about 1120 a.m. Was this anyone from our PU family. I too was in a hurry so could not stop and chat....Anyway was nice to see someone holding a Pentax camera....Very hard to find sensible people.

Regards,

Jeeess
I believe that may have been me.

I've only just seen this thread and checked back on the time and date of some of the photos I took outside the station while waiting for some friends to show up. It's a K5 BTW.

Same for me. I think the banding is in the JPEG preview. It is there in Lightroom until I import it and the banding goes away.

I popped into Jessops in Westfield White City yesterday and the only Pentax on display was a red Kr. I was in London to cover the boat race so mostly a rubbish weekend apart from some seriously ace classic car spots.

Macs are not immune - it's just the user base is relatively small compared to PCs that it's not usually worth the hackers bothering with.

The 12-24 hasn't changed according to the link in jules post, though at £799 it is hugely overpriced. I got mine new from Calumet at £199 (in 2008, lots has changed since then)
I got my 12-24 from SRS last October and I'm fairly sure I paid around £599 for mine. Park Cameras are selling it for £630 now. It has definitely been hard to get hold of recently, so maybe the £799 SRS price is the cost for new stock.

Not a happy bunny.

Red Busa - Park have the DA70 at £389

I don't think it is just the US. Check out the lens prices on SRS. DA 70mm Limited is now more expensive than the DA 70mm Limited silver edition. I think I may have bought the last black DA 70mm at the old price last month.

The price of the DA 12-24 is now eye-watering.

The info about the DRM at the start of this linked thread is two years old. Is this still relevant?
Now on Version 7.1. I like it. A lot. Easy to use once the odd interface is mastered and has unrivalled image distortion correction provided your lens & camera are supported.

Doug - have you any portraits shot with this lens? I'm thinking I'll get it anyway but I just like looking at your pics.
