There are a huge number of Apple Macs which have been infected with the Trojan Flashback.

There is an update available to help sort it out it seems but you need to check your machine!

Curiously enough - last week I was 'treated' to a spam attack from Russia - all were in a cyrillic font which aroused my suspicions from the start.

All were caught by the spam filter and I must have had about 90 in roughly 3 days - none since.

It is unusual for Macs to be affected - and I put up the warning simply because so many Mac users falsely believe they are immune to such attacks.

Macs are not immune - it's just the user base is relatively small compared to PCs that it's not usually worth the hackers bothering with.

Sadly it's not the first bit of malware targeted at Macs either, there was another trojan dressed up as security software doing the rounds nearly a year ago.
