I think a service offering language translations might be profitable...
Now how does one say "We Surrender" in Cantonese?

In addition to what is already said, todays consumers are cynical and disloyal, in the aftermath of years of not so consumer friendly marketing.
Savy shoppers want to buy from the store that gives the best price, get quality items, and educate themselves before the drop thier money down.
the internet has given us all free information on what to buy (this forum for eg) , a place where we can sell and get global demand (ebay) as opposed to what the guy down the street (who thinks he's got you by the curlies). And access to huge marketing machines....(walmart).
The future it seems is in providing meeting place for people with common interests to get together.....
I see Mac from Montreal, and his group of friends sitting around an internet cafe that caters to photogs and has a studio space to rent and offers classes (complete with swimsuit/langerie models) for them, and small home businesses to shoot photos in. Wine, cheese, hang your art on the wall, ask the waitress (who aspires to be a model) to pose.....

think of it like passing spagetti through a slotted spoon, and thats what a polarizer does to lightwaves. the longer, straighter and more uniform the light waves are the more will pass through the slot. the less uniform ones get blocked. most surfaces will absorb some of the light that hits it and either effectively line up, or mess up, the waves that bounce off. Light from the sun is fairly uniform, Some materials like our atmosphere act like a diffuser, partially scattering the light that passes through. put on your filter and the reflected scatter gets blocked, and the effect is stronger.
then there's metal that absorbs so little and reflects so well that it renders your slotted spoon useless.

you mean all the effort i put into shooting storks was a waste of time? all i had to do was drink ALL the wine?
crap.
multi layered image.
multiple shots with different lighting.
each seperate image overlayed with the others and "best" light from various layers kept and blended to create final image.

I wonder if the differences in capacity are due to diferent brands, or perhaps bad (unreadable) sectors on individual cards..or different images use up more space due to pixels and color data....I know some jpegs with alot of blank sky take up less memory than something with alot of detail,s like feilds of flowers....but those are compressed....
somebody smarter than me please throw in a difinitave answer before I hurt my witto bwain...

Can you set the d to display an image for 3-5 seconds after each shot?
that's what my ds2 does..allows you to shoot, get a quick preview and then shoot again.

angle finders are sooooooo old fashioned....try a pocket sized tv... with your video cable...add a remote release....then stick your camera on a pole up high, or a bean bag down low...on the bumper of your car, or the frame of your bike......
