Just hold off buying one for a month or three.
That charger looks identical to the one that came with my canons and the battery, rumour has it, may swap with a sony camcorder model...the bottom line is whomever manufactures those chargers and batteries for pentax will no doubt have thier own branded "equivelants" on the market sooner than you think.

Don't forget those filters will (with an adaptor ring) fit your camcorder!!!
I just pulled out of retirement all the cokin filters I could find...(most went into retirement when I went digital).
They are great for adding in-camera effects while I work on saving money for more high end video software (iMovie will have to do until I get good, then upgrade, so I can get great).

I'm confused.
This is the same site where I go to annoy a bunch of pentax guys right?
I got the same feeling of disorientation I had that time I came home and went to the neighbours house by mistake.
Some people keep thier toilet paper in the weirdest places.

a beanbag.
a manfrotto super clamp(which combined with a ball head and neoprene mousepad can clamp to anything like a car window, or railing or fence, bicycle handlebars etc).
Anything manfrotto (try thier pistol grip head)

I'm gonna stic my neck out and offer this advice:
if you're gonna use it alot, the sigma 170-500 is a great lens. but comit to a tripod.
if you insist on handheld, you will lose sharpness, and might as well go with a lesser quality, but more convient lens...samyang 500mm mirror lens for example...not as sharp as a prime lens, but not so far off in a handheld shooting contest, and at half the length and a third the weight, you may find yourself getting sharper images just because it handles better.

I think I've mentioned elsewhwere in this forum, that I started out with a k1000.
That camera would have a special place in m curio cabnet at this moment, if I still had it. But it's still with me, if only in fond memories.

you lose 1.7 stops
af will be Very slow in bright light and Useless in low light.
image quality is surprisingly good on my sigma 400mm, but not Pro (read count the feathers on a bird) sharp.

I'm ordering some samples from this one to see...my homework suggests they use vistek in toronto. They bill the client MY prices and subtract thier fee and send me a check. might be a good option for any Canucks that visit these forums. Will let you know how things pan out (i consider a test to see how well thing pan out over a six month trial)
