ok, a while back I mentioned Gerri's Giottos tripod (i looked but cannot find it). I think its an mt9170
Here's an update: a little knob on the tripod post collar fell off. I'll be drilling a hole through the knob and the shaft it mated to, tapping it and inserting a bolt to secure it, which is what the designer should've done.
now this tripod is less than a year old, doesn't get used or abused as much as my 10+yr old manfrotto 190.
not a deal breaker, just an anoyance that really would've ticked me off it it happened during a wedding shoot.

I'm not big on animal rights. I believe human kind has dominion over the animals, and we've been poor stewards. I also believe we are our brothers keepers, and we're failing that too. I wonder if there's a special place in he!! for those that pour thier thoughts, thier time and thier resources into animal rights/welfare, while there's still a human being out there starving?
on the one hand I choose to hunt with a camera.
on the other hand I'll kill anything, anytime anywhere, if I had to; to feed or protect my family.
maybe someday, i'll be rich enough that tonnes of the money i make from my photos will go to help needy people...one can hope
;0)

it's not My fault if George sells his house, and buys a new camera.

cut a snippet off and develope it.
read the edges.
try b+w d76 first.
if it don't work try a snippet in c41 color
(ps do in the darkroom or change bag, don't expose the film to light)

I believe you can get "improved" dynamic range from a single raw file by processing the same raw file two or three times with each processed file biased towards either the shadows, midtones, and highlights, then using hdr to combine the "versions" of the same file.

I consider the perfect woman to be the one that'l have me.
cameras on the otherhand are disposable. use'em, abuse'em and toss'em.

well now that they got dust/moisture sealing on the lenses, I see no reason they can't stir up a little cyclonic windstorm inside the camera with a miniture fan...to cool the sensor and collect the dust.
