I worked in a little photo store once.
The owner was complaining abot the low profit margin on Kodak film.
I pointed out the higher markup on the agfa film. He said very few people buy out of the "Bargian bin".
I took a couple rolls out and did a still life of some flowers, a xmas card styled shot of a teddy bear and wreath, and some night scenics of a local marine museum. I had some 16x20 and 20x30 posters made up, hung them in the store, with signs stating they were shot on agfa 100, and took the "Bargian bin" sign down. Agfa was outselling kodak 4-1 in less than two weeks. Lower cost to customer, bigger profit margin to seller. Better marketing strategy.
Pentax has to find better ways to deal with the stores/sales clerks.

I think there was some non bashing, usefull discussion on the thread, that could've been left, but recognize and respect the moderators decsision to remove.

Best call was made, under the circumstances.

hard light....slight overexposure....
polarizer and a difussion screen would've given the image a different look.

I'm with JR.
my canon g5 and pro one go places where slrs r too heavy to lug or are at risk of damage.

am drooling over the new g9.....but can't have.

does pentax have anything that competes with those models?

suppose you got 1 slr and three or four lenses. You drop the camera. It breaks. now how many pictures can you take?

I love the end result. Very cool!

(Note to self. Read the manual and find the bit on multiple exposures!)

use a yellow card, or gel to set your white balance (then put the gel on your lights yo color corect anything you're lighting with them) to maintain consistancy between your video and still cameras.

I find the multiple exposure mode useful.
While scouting around for a location for a video project, (I'm doing for my kids Halloween), we did this shot. The multi exposure mode combined with a "Day for Night" shooting technique (using custom white balance, slight underexposure, contrast maxed, and colors muted set in camera, jpeg) resulted in this image...we were able to get an approximation of what we wanted our video to look like, in the feild in camera. the final image was tweeked in photoshop, only using standard darkroom type dodging and burning....the goal is to get the video done (mostly in camera) to match this look:

weird how they come up with these nameing schemes...the k100 was a 1000cc inline four, and the k1200 was the 1200cc version of the same engine. bmw also had a k1
maybe Pentax has been studying German?
