I read on another forum that there is a BIG Pentax press conference due tomorrow. The poster was nearly as secretive as Benjikan can be (it wasn't him), so I have no other details. I was hoping someone here had heard about it. Ah well it will all become clear tomorrow I guess!

Thats the big Nikon announcement. Which has been now of course. Who would have thought cameras that nice were possible, Canon have some catching up. Of course it happens not long after I bought my D200, still have my IstDs of course.

Nothing yet I hope that it wasn't just a rumour - I have read about it on a couple of sites now, from different sources, but no sign yet, unless they were just hyping the new Optio announced today

dp review forums have had some discussion, some lively ones, about today's announcement....
Maybe a 12 MP K12D, or an improved K10D Super, or the mythical K1D....
Given that Sony haven't announced the A100 update, then I guess the D3 and D300 will fly the flag for 12MP alternatives to the 5D ....
I'll make as much use of the K10D and *ist before investing more money on bodies..

Indeed. I'd have to be making a whole lot more than I am before the idea of spending £3.5k on a single body didn't cause a certain amount of, shall we say, clenching

Pentax are at the IFA in Berlin at the end of the month, and on their German website they talk about big suprises in store there. It is assumed today's announcement is connected to that. Who knows?
