I still use rubber bands with white business cards...(bounce + fill)
sometimes I use white plastic (dollar store) cups.....(point the flash straight up and set the cup on top for barebulb effect).
if you want to get fancy...there's a mini umbrella and stand...(best bet)
the thing to remember is this: you need to be close to your subject with the light or any softening effect gets negated..

well this weeks comp is buildings...maybe I'll start with a stationary subject to run some tests... find out if sr makes any improvements under those conditions....light weight tripod, manfrotto pistol grip, locking collar on the lens.....

yeah, but it gets very overcast , and snowy, and with a (+)1or2 stop ev comp.... could get less light than you'd want. I know conventional wisdom is turn sr off when using a tripod, but can't help but be curious...

I'm going out to take some wildlife shots this week with my 400mm sigma, and maybe also 1.7 af teleconverter.

using mirror lockup isn't really the best option, as I'll be using burst mode (small, fast, active, subjects).

anybody out there tried using sr with a tripod mount supertela?

Will it benifit or hinder?

think of it this way..
the k10 is great.
if your tokina has any vinetting or softness around the edges..esp at wide apertures...that's the part that will get cropped off!
I love my 28-70....
