it has firewire/usb2 connectivity, for fast connections (I recommend firewire)
it has a sleep mode and an auto powerdown mode. the led display on the front acts as a fuel guage to show roughly how full it is. kensington lock compatible. I do not use the one push backup software on my mac because I have better automated backup schemes set up.
on my video workstation, I throw five of 'em onto a powerstrip (so I can click em all off (those power plugs draw power even if they are off, and if my system ever gets hacked..no access to my data). two are stripped as a raid for video, one has an aperture library, another a aperture vault, and the last one a backup of my macs hard drive (partioned into 2x160gig and 1x60gigs, so I can boot any of my macs off the backup dirve if needed). that way I can move a project from one mac to another easily (like when capturing hdv on my laptop, then editing on my imac or taking a whole project off location.
not perfect, and only one part of my mac setup, but if you can wrangle the drives, it works pretty good.

(ps internal light scatter would screw up the metering and af functions....I'm talking about framing without using the viewfinder as in push the laser button to check your framing, release the button, then push the shutter button.).

take the eyecup cover...
drill 4 tiny hloes in it, one in each corner of the viewfinder.
install 4 laser led's. and a push buttton
now with the cap on, you can pust the button and have 4 laser dots hitting you subject at the four corners of your lens's feild of view.
perfect for scuba, macro, and some studio work where framing the shot may be difficult.

I'm sure a good print will show alittle more detial on the top right edge of the guitar where there is little seperation from the background....
The only thing I'd try to add to the image (not change it) would be a little painting with a flashlight or small flash unit to bring the right edge up a little and add a catchligh to the strings...only a little bit of light...

let's see...
one aperture library on your hd. one aperture vault on an external drive.
one copy of your complete system, (including your aperture library) in time capsule...
that's triple redundancy with no effort, set it and forget it.
