K10d and older lenses

I currently have a Pentax Z-70 and am now intending to go digtal with a Pentax K10D. I have various lenses and wonder if they will work with a new digital camera. The two I use most are a Pentax 28-70 auto focus that came with the Z 70 and a Tokina AT-X 80 - 400 auto focus.

I was hoping I only need to buy a K10D body but only if my old lenses will work.

Can anyone advise me please?

they will work with a 1.5 mag factor. ie your 28-70 will give a feild of veiw equall to approx 40-105 mm and your tokina 120-600 mm.
you may find yourself wanting to get the kit lens with your k10d to cover the wide angle range.

Good idea as the Kit lens does'nt add much if bought with the body anyway.

Thanks for the information. I'd forgotten sbout the multiplier so your suggestions about getting the kit lens mean that I'd be pretty much covered. I mostly take wildlife pictures and it's the instant feedback on the quality of them that I'm most looking forward to.

think of it this way..
the k10 is great.
if your tokina has any vinetting or softness around the edges..esp at wide apertures...that's the part that will get cropped off!
I love my 28-70....

I made the switch to digital about 2 years ago, from a Z1. I have not regretted it for one minute, infact I find photography more fun now. I believe it has improved my skills as a photographer.
