if you are planning to play in photoshop....
you could take a so-so shot and really get wild with it.
that shot above, for example, (as it sits, it's no masterpeice, but exposure, focus, rule of thirds, not too bad, the light is a little flat, I'd revisit that spot early in the morning/late in the evening after a rain, with better light, and you will be pleased with the results) I'd paste in a door and windows on that log, add my kids playing on the woodchips (about two inches tall in scale), with our cat creeping up behind in the grass.
a little dodging and burning, and put on our wall.

now...can you get your flash off your camera?
I think maybe you can get more interest and detial in the feathers.....
those aren't bad shots, and most people would be very happy....but in light of the usual (impressive) standards we've come to expect from you....
use your flash with the available light, and from different angles, and kick'em up a notch, 'cause we know you can!

You've never tried roast Welsh lamb.
it's harder to get proper cuts of lamb, never mind properly prepared, in Manitoba. I find the fat leaves a slightly pungent, filmy coating on the roof of my mouth....
Now getting a nice slice of angus beef, slightly singed is easy enough...
then there's ordering up a properly roasted hog (Danny's Whole Hog BBQ, if you're ever throwing a party in winnipeg).
Oh, great now I've slobbered all over my macbook...

ps that's a WHOLE hog...roasted to perfection, that arrives ready to eat, on an ambulance gurney!

Never borrow what you can't replace, never loan what you can't afford to lose.
I'm 5'6" and used to work as a bouncer. Think that height difference really matter? If it's got knees and a spine, and can bleed, it can be taken down.
by the way..funny thread!
