Don, thanks for the almost instant reply, I hardly had time to make a cup of coffee before my pc "pinged" to tell me a email had arrived.
So if I take the first shot with for example me ij it then the subsequent ones with out me it will not ghost? is that correct?
but then how do I get the "twin" effect that i have seen? in one image there was a boy who moved several times running which froze him in differnt position on the image but he was fully exposed and the back ground was also as well,?

or if your image is dark over all, place your subject on one side, and use flash to light the subject, then move the subject to another spot in the frame for the second exposure...
the trick is to use full flash exposure on your subject, and half expose the static parts that will get exposed twice...

you are effectively taking a proper exposure and dividing it by the number of frames you intend to (think of a 'stack') take.... for example 2 frames= each exposure divided by (underexposed) half... to get two shots of a person to expose properly, you need to
a) get them to hold perfectly still for both shots (or more) which is not easy..
or
b) light them to get a proper exposure for one shot, then remove them or keep them in the dark for the other exposure...

the lighting... I believe if you can place a reflector over the ring and light the reflector... or use a softbox... soft lighting to make the metal look nice and a hard spot to make the shadow will give the heart shape, and not draw attention to imperfections on the ring surface..

due to a carefully planned visit (no plans at all) we didn't give or get much time to connect with Mac or Yves...
but Yves did go out of his way to meet for coffee.... and do we feel blessed for that! So sorry to have missed Mac, who was out of town at the time we went through...
We had a quick coffee at the hotel, then followed Yves to his place of employment, to meet some of his family...
Yves and his father showed us around the family business! My wife may have been tempted to run off with Yves charming father, but me an my boys managed to hang onto our only female this trip...
Thhank you so much for the advice and help Yves!
Yves got us safely off to the subways with proper maps and directions, and was kind enough to let us leave our vehicle at thier business so we could go explore Old Montreal! Wow were we grateful for that! Old Montreal is no place for a tourist to be driving around, trying to find parking!!! Montreal should be paying you for promoting tourism, Yves!!! We'll be back...no kids, on the motorcycle, with more time to plan and explore next time!!!
