Our cat Kittenbob literally turned up on our doorstep about six weeks old, nearly frozen to death, and starving. Barely made it, took him a couple days to get up and walk... where we live there is only one plausible explanation..... someone dumped a bag of unwanted kittens in a snow filled ditch in the country, to die and ONE managed to wander far enough to find a house....
I'm not against the earbobs... had a doberman myself as a kid... he got bobbed, not my choice, Mom's call, but he didn't seem to suffer much, a day or two later he didn't seem bothered by the bandages.... I just wouldn't do it if I had a choice.... but we're off subject....
sorry for the hijacked thread...

actually, our other cat Tux, was a ferral cat caught by our neighbor... the mother was mauled by an animal and found dead on thier lawn, and they found the kittens under a woodpile and kept them in thier garage to try and get them accustomed to people before finding homes for them....

Are you saving up for one of the legendary 200mm * macros? If so, where is it you live again...? And your stuff is in the shed:
Check what is guarding my shed I don't even need to pay subscriptions to ADT

I know it is tradition, and at one time needed to reduce injuries in dogfights, but I'm still not all that big on bobbing tails and ears..... hell I still feel bad about getting Rocky fixed.... (why do they call it "Fixed" anyways? If all his parts work when you drop him off, and then they don't work when you pick him up...doesn't that make him "Broken"?) I'll never forget the sad, brokenhearted expression... I'm sure if he could say it, he was thinking "What kind of best friend would have your 'nads cut off?" but I digress....
I have the 1.7 and it works great, esp with my 85mm soft and my 100mm macro...
It wasn't my idea Rocky... blame the woman, she made me do it!

Chris, it's poor form to vote more than once, especially on your own poll. We all know that there is virtual unanimity here that you're mad as a bag of snakes, so you're not fooling anybody.

And if any unbelievers harbour doubts about this, the evidence is irrefutable. This is a man who has 32 undrunk bottles of the finest malt whisky in his cupboard.

The prosecution rests.

I recommend theat the 'persecution' not rest.... until every last bottle is drunk... and the drunks are fistcuffing... and we're all acting like fools...
just my 2 bits... is all...

I think it is unfortunate that nobody has explored the possibility I posted earlier...
an adaptor for the 645d to use your 35mm lenses.....
just imagine if such an adaptor kept infinity focus, af sdm etc. etc. etc. and if the camera utilized all of the lenses image circle, cropping in software for the lens used... so get the full 30 mp with the 645 lenses and maybe 20 mp with a ff 35 lens and say 12 mp with an apsc lens... all with square images that you crop in camera for horizontal or vertical format images....

Hell I'd buy it for sure.....

I was reading some mobile phone instructions and it clearly said "do not paint this phone" and I wondered who would possibly want to paint a phone.

Then I noticed that one of my daughter's friends had indeed just painted her phone. So maybe the idea that someone would paint a camera isn't beyond the bounds of possibility either....
my daughter did a nice job on her phone with nail polish...

but wouldn't it make more sense to design the camera with snap on panels that users could then buy "skins" or "Armor" peices to customise it with? don't like black? order some red panels and maybe some gold grip pads... and sparkly gemstones too...
let the gaudiness commence!

I think two things are missing from the pentax line-up

one being a digital 110 slr

2 being a pro calibre compact (with hotshoe, sensor from the k7) remember that camera Pentax released with HP a few years back? put a kmount and new sensor on something like that... no mirror, no pentaprisim, optical rangefinder and liveview on a flip out lcd and bundled with a pancake lens.
