One thing about the Scotland, the roads are usually good. If you keep an eye on the weather forecasts and can be mobile then there is alway somewhere that is good.

The west coast is spectacular with fantastic light at times but if the weather comes in it can be very wet and visibility is nil. Pentax cameras suit Scotland with their weather proofing but there can be times when it is a bit too wet even for them.

Went up last year in September, intending to kayak around Knoydart and take in the mountains. Ended up storm bound in Mallaig for 3 days!

June should be a much better time to go. If your going up, I shall look forward to seeing your pictures when you get back.

Don't forget, Scotland is around 3/8 of this island and a lot of it is wild and remote and can be spectacular. Rather depends on the weather.
If you have only two days, you will take most of them driving to and from the highlands. There is lots in southern Scotland as well, although I must admit I am usually just on my way to the hills.

I don't think I will be able to afford a second one, well not until the K4,3,2 and 1 have all superseded the K5.

I'm still not sure if having a standby would be useful, Shortly after I bought the K10 it had to go back and I was without for a whole month. I have also just seen WobblyGoblin's IR conversion shots....

I guess I wouldn't have much to lose in waiting a little while.

Second one for me too. Love the way the sky comes through.

Very interesting effect. I take it, it is a one way conversion?

Well the K5 price has dropped, and the sensors seem to be clean now so I think I may be looking to buy a K5 soon.

The question is, should I trade in the K10 or keep it? Not sure how much the trade-in would be, it all helps, but would I loose anything that the K10 does that the K5 doesn't? Am I likely to use the K10 much if I have the K5?

What have other people found?

Try searching with something like 'pentax k macro reversing' on ebay and you will soon find a few.

Trouble is you may just move the dust to somewhere worse or add to the problem by moving more dust around!

It may be worth having a go at a £5 old prime lens but zooms are horribly complicated and easy to muck up. One of those times where you can save a whole lot of money by not doing anything, unless you really know what your doing!

I agree Vic.

The half bird/ excess rock,at the bottom could go but the shouting bird wants a bit of room, especially on the right. Perhaps a little space above the shouting bird could go as well but he needs some space to the right and the second bird below adds to the scene.

Half the researchers working for the BBC are doing it for nothing but the 'experience' and a chance to get into TV!

They will probably be inundated with wannabes.
