DA* 300 AF noise

Had a quick listen to my 50-135 which was attached to the camera, doesn't make a 'squeaky' noise like yours seems to do.
I don't have the DA*300, but I don't recall a squeaking noise on my other SDM lenses - 55, 60-250 & 17-70.
Just realised Mike's beat me to it !

I agree with Mike P too. Return to the seller. My DA* is silent which it should be.

It's strange though, I had it out for a test shooting this evening and I couldn't hear anything. I even put my ear next to the lens. When I got home the noise returned.
I mailed the store I bought it from, waiting for a response. I may call Pentax in Denmark too just to hear what they suggest.

That does not sound good. Something is rubbing in there that shouldn't.
I'd take it back and get it replaced!

I just received my DA* 300. Everything looked fine at first but I noticed an annoying "whining" sound when the AF goes from 1.4m to infinity. Is it something I should worry about? Would you send it back for a replacement?
I tried to record the sound with my phone for those caring to have a look.
