I wasn't suggesting there was any conspiracy or dishonesty John, just that a large proportion of the readership is probably looking for gear reports, news on the latest kit and also the adverts on the gear. This attracts the advertisers who have gear to sell and it all keeps the magazine running nicely. The image-dominated magazines have a much harder time making ends meet, without the advertising generating content, thats all.

I miss the Pentax User magazine, which was unashamedly biased to a camera brand but also managed to put a lot of good quality images in its pages. Unfortunately it was not financially able to keep going as a paper publication in the website age. I guess the format of a single brand magazine was just not viable without the advertising of multiple brands and the interest of a small number of subscribers. Thankfully it is still going on line and there are lots of other on line opportunities to see wonderful images.

It is probably worth getting it cleaned, if the fungus is not too bad. With a lens of this value it is certainly worth getting a quote.

It seems it's gear-orientated stuff that sells.
Don't you think it's probably because most magazines are largely payed for by the manufacturers and bought by people looking to buy cameras, find out more about cameras.

Perhaps a larger general audience in America enables the smaller interest in the image to support specialist magazines. They don't need money from the camera market to survive.

One of the reasons I don't regularly buy magazines, most are Camera magazines rather than Photography magazines so there is not a lot of interest for me most of the time.

I forgot there were more than one!

Must have a try using more to see what difference it makes.

My DA18-135 probably gets most use but I would have to say the ones that give me most pleasure are the D-FA100 and the DA70 Ltd.

Can't quite chose between them as they both have something special.

Nice set.

I particularly like number three.
Looking carefully and I can see the imperfections in what seems perfect at first. I.E. The not so straight edge in one side of the octagon in the centre. I love the flow of the design and all done without even the thought of a computer or other machines! Just very clever Human beings.
