Not really intrusive on your view at all is it!

Saw the Bournemouth hoteliers chap on the telly the other day and he thinks all the tourists will stay away. I can't see it will make any difference. The alternative could be a new coal power station in Bournemouth after all!

Any idea what their tripods are like? They have a "pro"travel one on offer at the moment.
I bought one of their Travel-pro tripods fairly recently and have been quite impressed. It folds down very small and is light. Comes with a perfectly usable ball head, which fits via a standard 3/8" screw so you can use any other head if you want.

It is pretty sturdy, although not really strong enough for a huge lens/camera combinations. I bought it for backpacking and mountaineering when both the weight and size of my other tripods mean they get left behind. This takes very little room in the rucksack, doesn't kill me carrying it and it gets taken and used. It works for me.

Try your local charity shop.

Some seem only to get cooking and gardening books but I've found some good photography books sometimes. Usually I find the local charities, rather than the national ones, seem to get the best selections although Oxfam have special book shops in some towns but they tend to be a bit more expensive.

I really like my Sigma 8-16. A bit big but definitely an improvement on the 10-20.

I am also very happy with the Samsung(Pentax) 10-17. Sort of lens that gives you smiles.

I've got two or three of them and they work well. Offer good impact protection but not sure how water proof the outside fabric is. They are made of padded fabric, inside and out so no problem with condensation.

I think I only paid around 50p each, at car boot sales.

No, not medium format but a full frame M42 mount preset lens. Easy to use on Pentax DSLR with an m42 adapter.

Quite a nice lens and very cheap for the quality. A quick google will find a lot of happy users. I have two so thought someone here may like one.

Well I didn't get around to ebay, so a bit of a bump.
