I'd be worried about condensation inside the bottle......any moisture inside, or on the lens, would be trapped there. I certainly wouldn't risk long-term storage in there, unless you chuck a couple of silicon pouches in there too.

I've got two or three of them and they work well. Offer good impact protection but not sure how water proof the outside fabric is. They are made of padded fabric,inside and out so no problem with condensation.
I think I only paid around 50p each, at car boot sales.
