Yours indecisively,
If I had to choose between the 2 operating systems I'd go for windows 7 every time. That's not to say windows 8 is rubbish, its just different to all the other operating systems from windows.
If your shopping for a new lap/desk top I'd go with windows 7.
That is the understatement of the year. To someone who has come from XP and still in use, it makes working on LR and PS a breeze in comparison . Long live XP
I do have a copy of 7 bought at the launch but never used,I have just bought a new PC with 8 on it and it is a nightmare! or is that different.

Correct and the verticals were only 1.5 degrees off as well: better than most of my shots in daylight

I don't know how the af is poor in low light as its better than the original k-5
It must be good then. I posted this picture on Monday, taken in Durham Cathedral in total darkness apart from a few candles. The procession was walking towards us, exposure detail iso 12800,1/8 sec , f3.5. The picture is lighter than it was on the night, one of the press guys who was using white lenses was moaning about the conditions.
I thought this was the ultimate test in low light conditions, unless you have a black cat and a coal hole

As you have to import your images into lightroom, lightroom does dictate where you have your images, in photoshop you open say on a memory stick and save back to the memory stick..
Not so in lightroom.
With all due respect, that is utter rubbish.
You beat me to it Peter.

I would think that's why LR was brought out.
