Lightroom 4 AND Photoshop?

As I see it, Lightroom for adjustments, Photoshop to be more "Creative"

I use lightroom to convert the raw files to jpg, export them to photoshop for a final coat of looking at.

Drop into photoshop to use the content aware tool, once this is incorporated into Lightroom I will never use PS again

OK, but what do you do in Photoshop? I had an 'interesting' copy of Photoshop a few years ago. Never got the hang of it.What can you do in Photoshop that you can't do in Lightroom 4? Serious question, I've got NO IDEA what Photoshop can do.

I find its easier to clone things out, and the spot healing brush is way better than it is in LR. And the use of layers is a real bonus for all kinds of things.
One day you'll find, 10yrs have got behind you.

Its the Layers thing I didn't get used to. Perhaps I should go on youTube and get some tutorials.

We use Photoshop and have no reason to use Lightroom, but each to his, or her, own.
We use Photoshop to do everything, from RAW conversion (where applicable) to preparing for print or web. The only thing we do in another program is HDR, for which we use Photomatix.

HDR can be done in Lightroom using the shadows and highlights sliders. Possibly not as well as Photoshop. Is Lightroom a Simpliefied (?) version of Photoshop? Have you used Lightroom 4?

I tried a previous version of Lightroom but could see no advantage over using Photoshop. I believe some use the cataloging facility, but as I don't need that it seemed superfluous.Have you used Lightroom 4?
Currently we use Photoshop CS5, which is a very powerful program that far exceeds our needs.

Lightroom excels at processing a shoot. You simply select a bunch of similar pics in the filmstrip and, with autosync enabled, any adjustments are applied to all selected pics. I always work this way to tart up all similar snaps before selecting the best ones to edit further.

You can make celebrities look nothing like they do in real life and give them impossible anatomical proportions.

I have to agree, Lightroom is for photographers, Photoshop is for graphic designers

Not really, otherwise why huge series of books "Photoshop xxx for Photographers" but it doesn't matter much in that as long as you find what suits carry on. If we have a system that works for us we're unlikely to waste time continually lokking for another one.Lightroom is for photographers, Photoshop is for graphic designers
There are images to process, rather than software to test.
