If the gallery is not for C+C and merely to showcase your best photos why is a comments box included?

I always understood that the Gallery was for C+C as well as the Forum. A lot of people, me included, don't post in the Forum because its just not so accesible.
As for pictures dropping off the recent pages of the Gallery - that's down to some people uploading not just one or two of the pictures they think are worth sharing but loads of them. I counted 12 pictures in one day from one member not so long ago. I find this unfair on other members whose photos are pushed down the list before others have had a chance to view them.

I like this idea.

I love the geometric shapes.

Abstracts, modern architecture, historic architecture, street scenes, steam engines. Above all I shoot instinctively so its whatever grabs me at the decisive moment.

There is no such rule for the weekly competitions but in the fortnightly competitons the picture must be taken between the time the subject is set by the previous winner and the closing date.

Best of luck with the meet at Whinlatter this weekend guys. Can't make it because of other demands on my time although on Sunday my wife and I are visiting our daughter and her family who are on holiday near Keswick. Maybe I could sneak away from them for an hour or so.....

I'm with Hefty. Your chair photo is in a higher league than the winning frog Emily. I'm beginning to think I need new glasses. I commented on this picture when you posted it in the Gallery and said I preferred the crop in your first posting, here in the Forum. I've just looked at them both again and now I can't see any difference in the crop. Oops.

I love No.4 where the spilt wine seems to take on a life of its own and start dancing.

I don't mind the pale blue background. What really grabs me is the sheer razor sharp quality and colour of the rose in the first picture. I also like No. 2 a lot, there is lovely delicate quality in that too. No. 3 is good but doesn't compete with your first two. I was surprised you didn't enter the weekly competition for 'Smoke.'
