No. 3 for me. That black and white portrait is classy.

Tarboat's picture is stunning, it encouraged me to go into his Flickr portfolio which is equally sensational. It is a large collection of mainly industrial scenes, steam trains, collieries, steelworks etc, across the world, particularly in emerging economies such as China and India but also in the UK and Europe. The photos work at more than one level; they are artistic and exciting and also demonstrate the impact of industry on our environment. There are also a lot of bricks which have gone down well in last week's weekly competition.

I'd say the second image is marginally better than the first as there is slightly more detail in the shrimps and crabs, as Stefan says.

My favourite is the last one. I love the abstract detail in this close up of a brick, it's like a shot from space of a desert in some remote part of the Earth.

March 6 should be OK for me too.

PS: Helen can you bring those puffins with you so we can all try to photograph them?
PPS: One of my favourite photos this year was taken at Hartlepool. It went down like a lead balloon in the weekly competitions but I still love it.
BTW Ken, your inebriated giraffe is doing my head in.

These by Hyram were posted about nine months before I even poined the PU but here goes, Hyram's this week's judge so we've all got to keep in with him. The autumn colours in the pictures are just as good now as they were then. I'm not so keen on the black borders though, a bit too funereal.

Terrific Ted. I love those moon shots. I think you should change your tag to Got There.

Great pictures but I like No. 2 most and I think the sea shell shot is stunning. I prefer your first posting of No. 2 to the later version.
