From about half an hour ago

Moon was a bit too bright. I'd rather look at a partial moon, you can see much more detail along the divide.
Still, next weekend should be good, if the weather stays clear.

Nice pictures!
I too was tempted by the clear skies tonight, so I took out the 10" dobsonian. Great view of the moon through the eyepiece, but I was unable to achieve focus using the pentax k adaptor, I probably need to buy a barlow to extend the focus. How did you connect your camera Father Ted?

My best shots were prime focus. I did get some with 10mm, 20mm and 40mm lenses, but struggled with focus...I miss my split screen!

I've a few more to work through and might have one or two useable ones with the lenses.

I also found it best to remove the diagonal..which is why my knees are now killing me from kneeling on a cold concrete floor

Lovely shots!! I've been intending to have a go at photographing the moon for ages but it doesn't seem to have stopped raining here for ages - or at least if it has, I haven't noticed.

Great shots. Is the second a crop of the first or taken with different focal length lens?

The second is a crop, but not of the first.
I could either get the whole moon in the size of the first, or add an eyepiece and get a partial moon.

Sorry I don't know anything about this type of photography. Is the camera connected directly to the telescope without a normal lens in between. i.e. using the telescope as the lens.

There are two ways to do it.
Prime Focus (I think) is connecting the telescope directly to the camera. So, in effect, I have a 1000mm lens with an aperture of 100mm. Making it an f10 lens.
To do this you need a "T ring" adapter and an extension tube. My tube comes in 3 parts. A short part, which basically puts the sensor where the eyepiece would usually be and two longer parts which can be screwed together to extend the setup.

Then you can shoot through eyepieces, I forget what this is called. Essentially, using the longer tube, I insert an eyepiece into the tube and then connect the camera. That gives much greater magnification, but much less DoF. It also requires a longer exposure.

If I get chance tomorrow eveing, I'll photograph my setup. I can use my old ME Super as a stand in camera.

Can't promise, though. Mrs is trying to get everywhere painted before Christmas

That would be interesting. A quick browse in the Pentax equipment Forum drew a blank.
