If you can't face people what about setting up one of those bird hide things in the street, one disguised as a postbox or telecommunications junction box or something. You could take photos through a slit. Our bird photography experts can give you advice on how to keep still and quiet so you don't frighten the subject away.

I hope no one takes the P out of my picture.

Z1 was the only auto focus film camera I ever had. Moved to the ist DS when I went digital at the end of 2005 and then on to the K10 three years ago.

Hyram, you may have a point about the abstract route. I'm no expert in Photoshop - I stick to the basics - but I'll give it a try. If I flush out a half decent idea I'll post it in Your Photos.

Gee thanks Hyram for the shock award. I'll treasure it. And many thanks for your detailed judging and excellent comments. Congratulations to Glyn, Ted and Tim and the commendeds. To answer your question posed in the comments - I didn't spend very long at all taking that photo. I was out of there in a flash if you'll pardon the expression.

Andrew, your original is def. not wishy washy. Subtle, yes.

I loved the original version of this picture but then came the variations and now its hard to decide which I like best. On balance I think Paul's heavy vignetted scene packs a lot of nostalgic punch for me.

Some classy entries and so many of them early in the week. Steve certainly will be busy.

I was playing around with my K10 and 16-50mm lens at my son's tropical fish tank. All handheld, the lighting came from the fish tanks own lights. Many of the blurry pictures looked impressionist, this one looked peaceful. ISO ranged from 800 to 1250 in the various shots.
