That was my last printer David. Lasted 6 months. I get quite a few large prints done for Camera Club competitions. Prices at DSCL are very competitive and quality is spot on. If I wanted some extra for myself, just as easy to add to the order in my case
Had mine approx 3 years Alan, no issues so far, touch wood. I do agree DSCL are very good for large prints and not expensive.

I gave up on a photo printer. Bought a colour laser printer for home use. It can sit idle for months and then be used again without the concerns of clogged up ink. All my photo printing is done by http://dscolourlabs.co.uk/
I also use DS Colour Labs, but don't have the need for many images to be printed large, so my printer does get used. I must say I haven't really had many issues with inks clogging, despite the printer being idle sometimes for a month or more. It's an Epson PX720WD.

People should 'vote with their feet' and boycott manufacturers who behave like this. 'Genuine Inks' are a huge rip-off and I personally never use them. I have an Epson printer which lives on ink supplied by 'Signal Inks' on ebay, with refillable cartridges that never get removed from my printer. These cost a tiny fraction of the Epson inks and are indistinguishable in terms of the printed output they produce. I have images on my walls at home which were printed several years ago using the Signal Inks and they have not faded or degraded at all.

Lovely set, particularly from No.4 onwards. The concrete barge shot is my favourite.

Wow, what a great set. 5, 6 and 12 are stupendous. If you ever fancy a companion on your landscape shoots, please let me know!

It's not too difficult to acquire tubes with the aperture contacts, they come up sometimes on here and also on ebay. Expect to pay around £50 for a decent set in good condition. I would have a look on ebay and if you can find some your DFA 2.8 macro will work just fine with them, with the exception of 'no AF', but that isn't a factor with macro photography.

Think you need some Guinness my friend
I don't think Guinness is strong enough. What about a bottle of nice Bourbon Whisky, something like Maker's Mark?

Sorry to hear about your woes Gareth, hope you are better soon.

Cheers

A lovely set and more proof (if needed) of what a great little camera the Mx-1 is. My favourite is 'Silver Seas'.

Number 2 is the pick of this bunch for me as it just has something a little different and I like the warm colours reflecting from the water's surface.

I've only just seen this post, yes I did use it whilst on a shoot in Sheffield, but I actually stumbled across it accidentally in the first place. I haven't used it since, as I've not been in a location where I needed it, but Steve's image above (which is a stunner BTW) has made me think about it again.

Hope you get some good results from it Naim, look forward to seeing your shots.

David
