I confess that I am not a fan of 'moon shots', so not very qualified to comment, but I do notice there is great detail in this one. I just wonder Barrie whether you would be better off using the talents of yourself and the K-1 on more interesting subjects?

Please don't take offence at this, there's nothing wrong with your image, in fact it's among the best moon images I've seen, but it is just the moon!

David

PS: My opinion on moon shots is probably not shared by others on here, I fully realise that.

A truly glorious set of images, amongst the best set I think we've seen on the Forum. 'At Low Tide' is an absolute classic.

I agree with Gary on the colours and richness the sensor has produced, but also think the photographer and the rather special Pentax-M 28mm 3.5 have played a huge part in making these shots so good. The compositions are fabulous and exposure spot-on.

Really enjoyed seeing these Andrew.

What about local sport? I'm not talking large football or rugby clubs, but local people participating in whatever sporting activities?

This would give massive scope for 'people pics' and also a creative take on the subject that not many people seem to do.

David

Edit: Oops I think I missed the title of this forum post, maybe not sport then? However, I bet there's a fair few local sporting venues in various states of decay?

Great composition, but I'm not too sure about the PP, it looks a little too artificial / processed for my taste.

Shoot in manual, take some test shots to judge the right exposure levels, exposing so as not to burn out any highlights, then leave it on the same setting as long as the light doesn't change too much.

Hi Simon

I'm a bit surprised you want to sell the Sigma. I have the Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4 and find it superior to all the Pentax zooms I've owned in a similar focal length. It works great into the sun too. I've had the 18-55 (numerous copies), 16-45 and 17-70 Pentaxes and of these I liked the 16-45 the best, but the limited zoom range frustrated me. I tend to agree with Mike, the 16-45 is definitely a step up from the 18-55.

Just superb Alan, I love all of the Kingfisher shots, but the IR of the Swan is pretty spectacular.
