These seem to go for between £140 and £160, so I would suggest £150 would be a good starting point. I paid £140 for mine from a forum member a couple of months ago and I must say it is a superb lens for this money.

It looks like it could be fungus to me? Also you seem to have a lot of cleaning marks on the element (circular lines).

I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you exactly what it is if it isn't fungus.

When you turn the aperture ring nothing happens. It only stops down when you push the lever on the side down and feels sort of sticky. It will not snap back.
It is faulty, send it back. Most likely it has oil on the aperture blades.

John, with the lens not attached to the camera, is the aperture opening and closing when you turn the aperture ring? If so, there's nothing wrong with it, if not, it is faulty.

I agree with you Steve, but just look at the sharpness of these images. For a zoom that costs this little, where can you buy such quality anywhere else?

If I didn't already own one I would be snapping the doc's hand off.

No problems for me, but I do keep getting the annoying pop-up stating that I've won an i-phone.

I use the site on 4 different PC's and it seems fine on all.

I've had another look at the Gallery 'most viewed' images, and in the top 100 there are only 2 shots that are not of naked ladies! Browse a bit further down though and the mix starts to change - there are some truly wonderful images in there, much better than the general standard on PPG.

If you filter the gallery for the most viewed photos you'll see that naked ladies are the most popular.
Thanks Charlotte, I'm being a bit thick, hadn't realised you could filter by the number of views! No surprises with the naked ladies, but all the more impressive that Shaun's is a landscape (seascape) shot with not a hint of naked flesh anywhere in the vicinity!

I wonder what it is that makes people click on a certain thumbnail more so than others, considering it's often very difficult to gauge the quality of an image from just the thumbnail view? So often it needs the 'large' view to fully appreciate the quality of a picture, but I suppose that some just hit you in the eyes even on the thumbnail and Shaun's image is one of these.
