Stuey, I would go for generic ones from Amazon, others seem to think they are just as good as the Pentax batteries. I have a Hahnel spare battery and cannot tell the difference between this and the Pentax one.

The seller has nearly 9,000 ebay transactions and 99.9% satisfaction rating so I would think you're on fairly solid ground here. I would not hesitate.

I've recently bought a copy of the Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG EX Macro and have had a few weeks trying it out. Here are a few images shot with it, I'm not particularly looking for CC, but any comments and advice would be gratefully received.

I cannot get this to work, all I get is the red cross where the image should be. Any advice anyone? I'm not a computer novice so you don't have to be gentle with me.

Thanks in advance.

Legacy lenses that I had a stash of from my slide film days, plus Pentax seemed to me to be the best blend of quality, value for money and ergonomics. I don't regret it for a moment.

Plus, you can buy one in metallic blue if you want

What about buying a 16-45? Great lens for detail, although no longer produced it is readily available for around £150 and for this price it's a belter.

The K-5 is a FANTASTIC camera if you're serious about your images. However, I upgraded from the K-x and I wouldn't dismiss this camera if I were you, it is superb for the money and available now on the likes of ebay for very reasonable cost. I would say there is not all that much between the K-x and the K-5 in terms of image quality. I have got one for sale on ebay at the moment with under 9,000 shutter count . Not that I'm trying to push the sale or anything! Joking apart, I have kept a K-x as backup to the K-5, it is such a good camera I can't bring myself to ditch it.

I'm a little perplexed by this thread. The images posted are not what I would expect from the 645D, lack of shadow detail and not 'vibrant', but I suspect this is not reflective of the abilities of the camera, but more to do with these particular images. The pixel size available in the forum will never do it justice, but I do think the images could have been chosen and processed more carefully. How about a wide, sweeping landscape?

Great images, the K-x is indeed a superb camera but also needs a good photographer behind it!

Although not if you get the DAL version. I have to say I've never been quite sure what the worry is with the plastic mount - used mine heavily for a couple of years without any problems.
I would second this, I am a little baffled as to why there seems to be negativity towards the plastic mounts. To me, they are a great idea as they save weight and they are durable. Also, if you drop the camera with a long lens attached there is a risk the bayonet mount on the camera may get damaged - this risk is much less with a plastic mount lens. I agree that the quick shift on the DA version is a good thing, but it isn't a show-stopper for me and I love my 55-300 DA L.
