If you want to have images in a post you have to provide a link from a hosting site like Photobucket. I don't think you can do it from the gallery

I cannot get this to work, all I get is the red cross where the image should be. Any advice anyone? I'm not a computer novice so you don't have to be gentle with me.
Thanks in advance.

Here's one of yours

Open the image in your gallery; next right click it; in Firefox you will have the option 'copy image location'; click it. Paste that between the image tags that you get when you click on the image button.
In IE, choose properties after the right click and copy the address (drag the mouse over it to select it); next follow the earlier past step.

I'll try it

Looks like I just get a red cross too, but if you double click on the red cross it takes you to the picture.

The easiest way to tell is what the image URL ends in.
If it ends .jpg (or .jpeg) then it will work. Anything else probably won't.
So the first above was
[img]https://www.pentaxuser.com/photo/user-13992/reach-for-the-sky-40986[/img]
which won't work and the second was
[img]https://www.pentaxuser.com/images/gallery/2012/01/normal/reach-for-the-sky_13273....jpg[/img]
which will.

Stupid question, but can you embed your gallery images in forum posts (rather than just provide a link to them). If so how ???
Cheers
