It doesn't seem to appear even for Pentax lenses. The focal length used does, but not the lens itself, unless this is something I am doing that is different to others?

I've actually seen quite a few in recent times, including a very young lady (18-ish) with a blue K-x in London, a man with a K-5 at Clumber Park, and another man in London who although he didn't have a K-5, he knew all about them and commented on what a great camera it is.

It's somethng you need to get used to with digital cameras and it not really a cause for concern. There are any number of ways you can clean dust off the sensor, including all those mentioned above. I would be very surprised if it doesn't happen again - don't be too worried about it as it is easy to clean off without damaging the sensor.

I bought a K2000, which I believe is the same camera
The K2000 is emphatically not the same camera as a K-r! It is however the same as a K-m, which was the entry level DSLR prior to introduction of the K-x and is rather far removed from a K-r. For starters, it does not have live view, it is 10.2 megapixels not 12.3, it has a CCD sensor, not a CMOS, it has much lower resolution on the rear screen, it is far slower to respond, it has a lower continuous shooting rate, it's not very good in poor light / high ISO (noisy). Despite all of this it's a rather fine camera and takes superb images in good light, but it cannot be compared to a K-r in any way other than it has 'Pentax' written on the front.

Great shot, excellent fine detail in the feathers and exposure is spot-on.

Hello Matt, welcome to the forum and the website in general. I also have a K-x and can confirm it's a superb camera.

Best wishes

The colour is definitely off, not sure if this is a WB issue or something else, but the image is very appealing.
