Silver K3 body £710.00 + postage at SLRHut...link
Not sure about SLR Hut, there have been some bad things posted about them on various sites. Also I instantly take a dislike to the page on which the K-3 is advertised for some obvious reasons:

- The K-3 image is of the silver limited edition version - this is very misleading and the blurb doesn't mention that this would not be the version supplied

- They still have Christmas images on the page - this smacks of poor attention to detail

- Delivery is quoted at 7 to 10 days - this implies that units are not in stock

I like the central composition of the lady - it works because the bench is off-centre and is balanced by the shadow being off centre in the other direction. The bit I have an issue with is the bottom - it needs some slight cropping there to position the bench on a horizontal third.

Hi Alistair

I can't directly comment on the M28mm F2.8 as I've never owned one, but as Nigel (McGregni) pointed out I rave about the M28mm F3.5. Maybe this lens is not quite fast enough for street photography, but it is a sharp little beast and has quite a reputation for being one of the best 'affordable' legacy lenses out there. I would ditch the F2.8 if I were you and either go for a F3.5 (they're not that difficult to find) or buy something different altogether that's more modern and has AF, although that will cost you more. I've been looking at your shots with the M28 F2.8 and my thoughts are that they would be blown away completely if you took the exact same shot with the F3.5 version. I'm making the assumption that your shots were correctly focussed when saying this.

Overall a great set of festival images, conveying the atmosphere and goings on very effectively. I agree with Dr O that some are over-sharpened but this does not detract from the overall impact and quality for me as it's more important to get the shots right in the camera - the processing is secondary and can be re-done if necessary.

All very nice shots, the GR does seem to produce very good results.

No, I remember another one that got 95, and that had better depth of field and less noise on the sky - that's 2 things really, so this should have been 93, but I'm being generous because I know the K3 is a great camera
I can't think of anything funnier to say than that, so all I can say is I give that post 99% - almost perfect!

That's 94% from me David.
I'm a bit upset Nigel, I was really hoping against hope for a 95% on that one, gutted really

Maybe it's because the AF improvements didn't work so well on that shot.

Oh, sorry it's manual focus

Cheers

One member I recall (who doesn't appear in these parts very often these days) whose images had a very definite trademark was 'Axel Luther'. I could always spot his images from the thumbnail. I think also that Nuri ('Senn') has a very definite style, particularly with his bird images, most of which are shot in similar locations in his backyard.

The person that most springs to mind who doesn't appear to have any definite 'style' is Daz (Bettyswollocks), whose images are pretty random in nature. BTW, that's not intended to be a criticism, just an observation that the style and subject matter varies a lot from image to image.

I think it might be interesting for everyone to post a single image that they think is representative of their style?

I've actually found it all rather entertaining, although I do feel for Daniel having obviously worked to a set of rules for the review, only for this to be ripped apart on here!

Here's a K-3 photo, not sure if it is nice or not, I'm sure others can judge that:

K-3, Pentax-M 28mm F3.5
