This one is F7.1 and also shot through a double-glazed window - I find the 150-500 to be a very sharp performer, especially if stopped down just a little. Wide open it tends to 'halo' a little bit, but by F7.1 there's no trace of this with my copy. Great lens.

PS: I ought to mention this is with the K-5, not the K-x but I've used this lens quite a lot with the K-x and got very sharp results.

Hi Gauche, welcome to the site! Both lenses you have are good and the A F1.7 is a classic.

I hope you like the K20D - you will get a lot of good advice on here if you need it.

I also know Dubai very well having worked out there regularly. I like all of the first three images, but the second for me is outstanding and really emphasises the height of the Burj Khalifa so well.

I'm not qualified to comment or give you advice Ralph as I know nothing about taking professional quality portraits. What I will say is that I take my hat off to you and I give you my best wishes should you decide to pursue this as career. I think you are getting good advice from the people on here that know what they are talking about

That works better for me as a composition.

My feeling on this one is similar to Nigel's - it looks over-exposed. I wasn't there at the time so clearly can't say exactly what the conditions were, but the K-5iis has so much latitude that I think you could have exposed for the sky and recovered the shadow details in post processing. In terms of composition, I would prefer it with a far tighter crop, losing some at either side, but particularly on the left. This would remove what looks like a raindrop at the far left centre.

Hi John

The O-RC1 works perfectly with my K-3 too.

Presumably its pretty good wide open compared to the mediocre 28mm 2.8?
Please ignore the subject matter in this one Alistair, it's just a family snap taken with the K-x, but because it was quite poor light I took it wide open at F3.5, wrong aperture for this shot but look at the details on my mum's hair and face in the middle at the back:

Here's a few - not 'Street', but they might give you some clues:

I agree with Jon about the 50 F1.4, I have the 'M' version and it is brilliant, I would not part with it, especially after using it on my K-01, which is where it lives permanently now. However, it might not be wide enough for you to use as a walkabout and street lens.
