I have started my fund to finally upgrade my K200D at the end of the year. If I were to upgrade now, I'd go for a K5 II at just under 600 quid as it has the improved AF and high ISO performance I'm looking for. I don't want or need the K3's 24MP, but the K5 II won't be available at the end of the year.

Anyone recall what price the K5 was at a year after launch? I suppose that would be a decent prediction of what the K3 will be come December.

Not sure about SLR Hut, there have been some bad things posted about them on various sites. Also I instantly take a dislike to the page on which the K-3 is advertised for some obvious reasons:

- The K-3 image is of the silver limited edition version - this is very misleading and the blurb doesn't mention that this would not be the version supplied

- They still have Christmas images on the page - this smacks of poor attention to detail

- Delivery is quoted at 7 to 10 days - this implies that units are not in stock

Thanks for the input David. I don't have any personal experience of dealing with this company and so I can't honestly recommend them one way or the other.

On the face of it though, their price does look attractive be it for a silver or black k3. It's a judgement call for the potential buyer however. Maybe other forum users have experience of this company that they are willing to share.

This is an American company you'd be dealing with (they don't hide that but the website '.co.uk' might mislead). You'll be getting a grey import, will not have the statutory safeguards that protect transactions with any UK- or EC-based company, and should read in detail their T&Cs to be sure you are comfortable with their undertakings. You might find it useful to quiz Pentax UK on whether they'd undertake any warranty work; if not, you might be faced with returning the camera to, say, Hong Kong.

It's a good saving if all goes smoothly and the camera works as it should. My concern would be that the saving could seem paltry, if only in terms of frustration, if the K3 has or develops a fault.

Bear in mind that the Silver K3 was only supplied with a silver matching grip as a 'Limited edition' package.
I saw this offer a short while ago and couldn't see any reference to the grip which made me suspicious. If you're interested then I would suggest you contact them first and ask about the source of their stock and what happened to the grip.
The £1339 UK price you are quoting, probably and correctly, includes the grip.
