There must be something wrong here Jon. The images I get from my K-3 are a lot sharper and more detailed than those from the K-5IIs. I know I don't shoot through aircraft windows, but something seems to be amiss.

I wonder whether it would be worth getting your K-3 checked out, as there is no way it should produce less detailed shots than your K-5.

I'm not taking any credit for making this thread, but it does seem to me that since it was posted the forum has been a lot more vibrant? Whether this has sparked some interest, or whether it's just a coincidence I'm not sure, but I've enjoyed the site a lot more over the past week or so.

I haven't noticed anything with my K-3 Jon, apart from the way it renders greens and yellows which to my eye is more of a 'natural' tone than the K-5IIs gives. I often turn down the yellow saturation in images shot with the K-5IIs because grass and trees look a bit artificial, but I haven't had to do this with the K-3.

Having said this, I don't take any shots at 30,000 feet through airliner windows!

It's a long way for me Stu, but if I can make the trip then I'd love to come. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

Just to give some balance Roger, I do much prefer when birds are coming towards the camera as opposed to going away from it
I was about to say the same, but I wasn't brave enough, following recent discussions!

The images are very good, but because the bird is pointing the wrong way, I don't think they can be considered great. Praise is deserved though for the exposure and for capturing the landing within the frame, a feat which is not easy.

What is the information you have discovered Jon? Is it worth sharing with us so that other K-3 owners might benefit from it?

These are all good, sharp and well exposed shots Stan. I agree with Gravelrash's comments on the first one, it would be better if the overhanging branches were not in shot, but the rest of the image makes up for it.

The second and third are not quite as eyecatching, but very nice nonetheless. As you might know, I often use my 55-300 to isolate parts of a landscape and I find it great for this type of shot. I do like the leading line in the third one that lets the eye meander towards the distant house.
