K5, 150-500, with Tamron x1.4.
1/6400th., f8, ISO3200.
A/F c.
Handheld.

No.2 is the one for me. Great action and that was THE moment. Normally such graceful creatures but they land like an elephant's belly flop.

Great set! My favourite is no. 2. I really like the detail in the feathers and the water drops.

Just to give some balance Roger, I do much prefer when birds are coming towards the camera as opposed to going away from it

I was about to say the same, but I wasn't brave enough, following recent discussions!

The images are very good, but because the bird is pointing the wrong way, I don't think they can be considered great. Praise is deserved though for the exposure and for capturing the landing within the frame, a feat which is not easy.
