{heretic mode on} I suppose if they’d include a copy of Photoshop you could always colourise the photos {heretic mode off}

Seriously though I don’t see why you couldn’t achieve the same BW result by carefully post processing a colour image.

There were a lot of negative comments on the PS forum when Adobe announced the ‘fix’ was to upgrade to CS 6.0 – but since then Adobe have had a change of heart and announced a fix will be made available soon for CS5.5, I’m not sure about CS5.0

If the K-5, K-7 and K10D have one then there is no user access to it, and no reference to one in the manuals. The *istD has what’s referred to as a ‘Backup’ battery which is accessed via a cover on the bottom of the camera.

It would not surprise me if there is one in the current models but I guess they expect it to last the lifetime of the camera, if it did fail then the camera would need to be returned to have it changed.

Update:
It appears the free CS6 upgrade is available in the UK, just not very well signposted on the website.

I have never tried it but… could you use the sensor shift feature of the K5 (or K7) to achieve the same effect as a tilt &shift lens? (well the shift part anyway).

I think you will be able to upgrade from the previous dot release also – so you could go from CS 5.0 or CS 5.5 to CS6. There was a lot of unhappiness in the Adobe community when they changed to upgrade policy.
I still plan to upgrade every two years so I will wait to go from CS5.5 to CS6.5. But anyone who wants to stay current but is still on CS4 or older will have to think of upgrading soon to avoid the expense of having to go for the full version rather than the upgrade when CS6 is released (especially those with creative suite licences)

On the Adobe forums there appears to be a lot of interest in the new version of ACR which apparently is a big improvement over ACR6.6, from what people have reported about the beta release of ACR6.7

The Adobe US online-store has on offer of a free upgrade to CS6 for anyone upgrading to CS5.5 before May 6, as usual no sign of a similar offer on the UK site

Have you checked out Pixmania (www.pixmania.com) for prices??
I had a bad experience with Pixmania some time ago – ordered a lens online which was listed as ‘in stock’ it wasn’t. They kept promising it would be in stock in the next few days each time I called(it kept showing as in stock on the web site).
This went on for several weeks and they had debited my card when I placed the order so when I finally lost patience and cancelled it took another 10 days (+ many more calls) before I was refunded. I finally ordered from SRS and it arrived the next day. It was about £10 more, but lesson learned – I have always ordered from SRS since then.

One clue as to the likely hood of a FF could be in the specs of the 560mm when they are released – I don’t see the point of making it anything other than FF if Pentax have plans in that direction.

Flying pigs – sounds like an ideal situation for the 560 to get some PIF rather than boring old BIF photos

Sadly I expect I will need to multiply my £2k limit a couple of times, unless Pentax takes pity all of us who have been waiting so long for something past 300mm. But as you say its probably going to be wait another few years or find a job in banking.

Favourite DA* 300mm – most often used DA* 50-135mm.
