Experimented with a few shots in the garden, but the wind spoilt several shots. I will have to see how well the motion correction works next.

Is the actual number of image pixels unchanged when using Pixel Shift? Although the DNG files are around 170MB as opposed to 40~50MB for normal DNGs both result in the same image size 7360x4912 in Lightroom (Lightroom CC Release 2015.6.1 Camera Raw 9.6)
Is this correct or do I need to install the Pentax software to process the DNG files? Or change the RAW format?

Sold some shares before current events hit - and I also think prices may go up soon.

Mike, when I do get out I'll have a go with the converter and see how it behaves.

As is usually the case the weather decided to take a turn for the worse so haven’t had a chance to do much testing yet.
With the K5II-s the enhanced AF functions on the lens don’t work (maybe a Firmware upgrade could fix that.) but everything else is fine. The lens is a bit of a beast and seems to dwarf my DA* 300mm – in fact the lens on its own appears to weigh more than the K5 + 300mm.
But handheld shooting is possible – even with the poor light. As an experiment I gave it a try with the Pentax DA 1.4X AW Rear Converter and it focuses surprisingly even in such poor light.
The photo was taken at 450x1.4 (630mm) f8 1/640s ISO 6400.

Only processing was resizing for the web.

Well I know one thing, I was going to buy a 150-450mm for my 5IIs (.. and quite possibly the 70-200mm as well) but if it isn't 100% functional just because Ricoh wont issue a firmware update then as far as I am concerned they have lost a £2000 sale.
If it’s just some of the Quick-Shift functionality that's missing it won’t be a disaster and there is still time for a K5 firmware update I suppose.

I always left the GPS switched on (but GPS logging off) and the camera switched off when not in use. I have several batteries – all genuine Pentax D-LI90. After one session the battery was showing half depleted when I switched the camera off. It was about three weeks before I got chance to use it again.
When I tried to switch the K1 on it was completely dead – fortunately put a fresh battery in and everything was ok. When I got home and put the battery in the charger the green LED flashed for a while indicating the battery was either faulty or completely discharged. After a short time the LED stopped flashing and the battery charged normally and has been ok since.
What I have noticed about the GPS if it is still switched on when the camera is turned off the next time the camera is switched on GPS data is available very quickly usually on the first shot, but if the GPS is turned off before the camera is it takes much longer for the GPS to lock-on when it is turned on – with the GPS data missing of the first few shots.
I can only assume that even when the camera is off the GPS is in a stand-by mode (even with logging off) and continues to drain the battery.
