Just replaced my battery as it was starting to be intermediate working. I've read you can't change the batteries in these so I had nothing to loose.

4 screws in the back. Remove these and carefully prize apart. The front buttons are stuck to the PCB so you'll need to carefully pull apart. Once this is done, 2 smaller screws hold the PCB to the main remote body. The battery will then become visible. There is a yellow plastic surround that's stuck to the bottom of the PCB, I had to break this plastic and 'unwrap' the plastic off the battery. Then there is a sticker holding the top of the battery in place that needs removed. Its a 2025 battery and once replaced I used Frog tape to hold the new battery in place. Then reassemble is the reverse of above. New battery works a treat

I would welcome any experience regarding remote control for the K33 as it seems the only one that is being offered now is a sealed unit no facility to change the battery or charge it which has to be “binned“ when the battery runs out.

If anyone has some experience with any form of remote Control controller I will be most grateful for any advice.

Traditionally, remote control controllers or compatible with bodies from “way back“ up to later Camera motors but it seems the K3 .3 is not compatible with those older Pentax remote controls.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ps; are there any users of the latest Remote Control O-RC1 waterproof who could verify how many shutter activations this unit can deliver before the sealed battery is “shot”

Stay on Brand -these lenses are stunning on a cropped sensor and the DA * lenses are fantastic even with the Pentax 1.4 teleconverter

1. On a cropped sensor the DA* 200mm effectively becomes a 300mm
• With the TC mounted it becomes a 420mm

2. On a cropped sensor the DA* 300mm effectively becomes a 450mm
• With the TC mounted it becomes a 630mm

• This lens is without equal in it’s price bracket
I have used equivalent Nikon, Canon and Sony on BIF

The Sony is the nearest to the DA* 300mm and the DA* 300 is a very useful close-up lens for insects and other small subjects (good examples in my portfolio)

3. On a cropped sensor the Pentax HD D FA 150-450mm becomes an equivalent of 225mm- 675mm

I don’t find it useful to mount 1.4xTC with the 150-450mm

Not sure as it was really never used; I bought a K20D 5 weeks after I bought the MZ5 and it has been stored since (correctly).

If you do indeed want it give me your address and I'll get it over too you.

Drop me a PM 👍
