You've definitely nailed that combo Daron...you should try your hand at something a bit more challenging now

IQ, This is the challenge; Getting a sharp high contrast, image in these conditions
* Stretching the equipment, hand holding 600mm, wide open; degrades the image
* I.e. non-optimal light, shutter speed and aperture ; softens the image further
* Tracking a small Bird passing in and out of the narrow field of view of a big telephoto in a blink.
* Subject is small to start with, even at a relatively short distance so, in this case a 60% crop is used - further degrading the image.
It’s all solvable with a bit of planning but as the year goes on fighting with diminishing day-light levels adds to the challenge as well as the birds presence, prey opportunities and hunting pursuits change.
Hey oh! What’s new - this is how BIF photography is but for sure the K3.3 will help.

I'm interested to know the opinions of those of you who have owned both these lenses, particularly from the point of view of using as a "walkaround" or general use lens with a K1. Do you fell that the 24-70 is significantly better optically? How does the 28-105 perform wide open? Any other aspects that make one or the other a much better choice?
Thanks in advance

In low light particularly indoors the 28-105 can be challenged optically and to use; I did a large event shoot over two days and found the 24-70 to be easy bright and pretty faultless.
But the difference in price doesn’t indicate a similar difference in IQ.
Without being unnecessarily pretentious;
In a nutshell the 28-105 is a very good lens but the 24-70 is a very good pro-lens that never seems to struggle and a joy to use
