That's a great effort Amin, tiny bit of shake evident but good tones and detail.
I think a teleconverter will not necessarily produce better results, although the moon will be bigger, the optics will be degraded and the lens will be slower - so more shake to deal with.

I like #3 followed by #1
#4 is amusing but ultimately too much black.
#2 is too noisy (but that's just me)

next time I see a copper, I'll point it at him 'just to seek clarification'
li'l bit of confrontation is good for the soul

I prefer number 1 also. I think 2 is suffering from motion blur/camera shake. Both of them would benefit from squeezing up the levels to increase the contrast. This will help sharpen it and remove the noise in the 'black'

That is what I would expect Terry, but there is something queer going on!
The machine really seems to 'know' that a newer version has been tried.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to find that Microsoft had deliberately made it not backwardly compatible...

Thanks Tel,
What's confusing me is I bought the machine with Vista and immediately wiped it clean and installed XP pro no problems ??

I spoke too soon.
I can't get any XP pro installation (boot) disks to work.
Any of you technical boys know of any issues when reverting to older operating systems?
The hard drive was brand new before I tried Windows 7.
The only installation disks that work are Vista and Windows 7.
Has Windows corrupted my lovely new hard drive? I've tried formatting it with the Windows 7 command prompt whilst booting from the CD.
And I've tried removing most of the memory (and swapping it around)...

Lovely shot.
Cloning definitely helps and personally, I would also desaturate the purple fringing.
Well worth the effort - great shot

Maybe I'm a real fuss pot when it comes to noise. I reckon my K10 is pretty poor also - I never let it go above 200 and I would have to be desperate then. I used to buy 1600asa film just for the lovely grain but smudgy digital noise is 'orrible

looking forward to the camera makers finally concentrating on quality rather than mega pixels that nobody needs.
