If it's not an option when you do 'new post', then you can't, you'll have to ask Matt or John to stickify your post. However, for some reason, some of the topics, General Photography for sure, allow you to post a sticky thread.

Seeing as Niblue got in before me with practically the same image as the one I was about to post...

*istD, Tamron 300mm f/2.8 + 2x convertor (I think), 1/180s, unknown aperture (before I got my KA AD2 mount).

George, your 31mm is "just too good", yet you have no respect or affection for it?

Not sure, but another odd thing was when I went from that item to 'sellers other items', there were 11 things for sale, but the Sigma wasn't one of them...

But you're right, it doesn't show up in searches. Odd. Sorry, no idea why. :

I hope the one on top is watching where they're going, cos he's got his hands in front of her eyes.

Great shots again, Clarky. It amazes me how good your shots are bearing in mind the wide aperture - focusing has to be spot on, and when it's small things flying around...

Well, it might be handy for those with any of the *ist series DSLRs...

I thought that the 2007WFP uses a S-IPS panel.
You're right, I didn't take the time to check it before posting.

I was going to say this monitor is around £250 from www.ebuyer.com , but having just checked there, it's no longer listed...

Oh well, I'll change when I really have to.

I'm still using a 17" CRT and finding that I could use some extra room. Been looking and am quite tempted by the Dell 2007WFP 20" widescreen Ultrasharp, which uses a PVA screen if I remember rightly. Anyone got one of these?

Been using a 17" TFT on a laptop for the last couple of weeks, and assuming it's a TN type, I'm certain I don't want one of those for regular work - looks nice and sharp, but lighting very variable when moving about.

I work at Bedfords Park near Romford, where there's a captive herd of Red Deer, and this time of year sees the rut taking place. Last year, as Peter Elgar found out, was a bit of a disappointment as far as action went, but this year looks as though it's going to be better.

Plenty of noise, and tangling of antlers. These were shot as the sun went down, and they're quite severe crops from the 50-200, so not ideal. I'll take my 300mm f/2.8 and convertors tomorrow and hope for similar weather...

The dominant stag, who sticks close to the 'girls'.

One of his rivals.

A couple of the younger stags giving it some.

Not the best pics, but hopefully I'll get some better ones over the next week or so. These were with the K10D and 50-200mm, at f/8 and around 1/60s.
